Ellery round reed pattern

This beginner/intermediate basketry pattern has 48 pictures and 9 pages of instruction for weaving a round reed basket centered about a 4" round acrylic bloom base. The "Focus on Techniques" includes an introduction to 3-rod wale, twined arrow, 3-rod arrow and an arrow style rolled border. Spoke templates and "Common Techniques" are available as free downloads from this website.

The pictures shown utilize a "Sheleeart" style acrylic bloom coated with 1-2 layers of epoxy on a slotted wooden base. These bases are available for purchase within this store. This pattern may be scaled for a 4", 5" or 6" base. To achieve similar spoke gaps, the 4" would use (32) spokes, the 5" uses (41) spokes and the 6" would use (47) spokes. The weaver would be responsible for ensuring ample weaving material as the larger/smaller diameter may require more/less reed.
